13 Weeks Pregnant

I had an appointment last Thursday for a checkup. No ultrasound this visit, but they did listen for an audible heartbeat. The tech said we probably wouldn't hear one since I was only 11 weeks, but within a few seconds of searching... there it was!!! Dr White asked me if I had any questions, and the only one I could think of was "when people ask me how far along I am... what do I tell them". He said 13 weeks. So... I went in thinking I was 11 weeks, and came out 13 weeks!
So... I am almost through my first trimester. Wow how time flys.

9 Weeks....

Well... I had no idea that growing a baby would be so exhausting... still. Here is what What to expect when you're expecting has to say about my "pregnancy fatigue"

What fatigue is: The apparent disappearance of your get-up-and-go, which seems to have temporarily gotten up and gone

What causes it: Pregnancy is sort of like climbing a mountain or running a marathon (without having trained), while carrying a backpack that weighs a little more every day — in other words, it's hard work! During the first trimester, a huge amount of energy goes into building a life-support system for your baby (namely the placenta). In the last trimester, fatigue returns as your growing fetus puts more demands on your body — and as sleep becomes more elusive. Also to blame, all that mood upheaval — riding the emotional roller coaster of pregnancy can be exhausting. It's no wonder you're pooped

What you need to know about it: By the end of the first trimester, your body will have completed the Herculean task of manufacturing the placenta and grown a bit more used to the hormonal and emotional changes that have occurred.

So... no wonder I am exhausted and short of breath!!!

7 Weeks...

Well here it is... this is what I look like on the inside!!

Except for being extremly tired and lethargic & having a little bit of "queasiness" that comes and goes, I have felt good.

Well...We had our second ultrasound yesterday with Dr Toller, and everything went great!!We were able to see the little heart beat flickering. I think that we were both very relieved to have yesterday over with. We have learned to take one day at a time. Based on my LMP, the due date would have been January 17th (my birthday) but once Dr Toller did the ultrasound and based on measurements, she thinks I am 7 weeks and our due date is January 28th. Jason said all along "first week in February".... we will see!!It is still very soon, so continue to pray for us!!!
